A sepia portrait cabinet card of a woman in fine clothing and a pearl choker. The photograph was taken by Amasa W. Shackford. "Shackford" and "Farmington" appear on the lower portion of the front of the photo card, in script. The card has a scalloped edge around the entire edge. The card has a rolled paper effect embedded directly around the image of the woman. The back of the photograph card has many decorations. A decorative edge of vines surrounds a lion crest and a shield on a patterned back. The shield has the words: " Instantaneous process used exclusively, artistic, A. W. Shackford, photography Farmington, NH. Below the shield are the words: " duplicates can be made at any time."

A black & white and a colorized blue-green-brown, souvenir postcard of South Main Street facing north into the bend in Farmington, NH. The Eastman house and Edgerly factory and Edgerly house can be seen in the middle ground, very clearly. The lower portion of the First Congregational Church can be seen in the distance, through trees. A fence and electric poles can be seen in the foreground to mid ground. Trees in various stages of growth are also present.

Sepia souvenir postcard Of "The Turn" of the Cocheco River in Farmington NH. The falls can be seen very clearly as well as the vegetation on the banks of the river. The water appears to be swiftly moving and the trees and shrubs have leaves so the photo was taken some time during the growing season.

Farmington Inn - Roosevelt House Color Souvenir Postcard
A brown-green colorized postcard of the Roosevelt House, also known as the "Farmington Inn." The souvenir postcard has a view of the front and side of the house, with a brick facade, which was located on Central Street. The house is three stories, with only the lower first floor covered with an open porch, with stairs in front and to the right side, with low balustrades. Chairs line the porch. Three, tall chimneys can be seen atop the house. A house to the left can also be seen. A sign on pole which reads " Roosevelt House," stands out front, center. A few trees can also be seen. A small side porch is located on the right side and resembles the front porch.

While lacking the usual parade, the day was none the less filled with reverence and gratitude for those gone before. </em><br /><br /><em>Participating in the ceremonies were the Clarence L. Perkins Post 60 American Legion, Willson-Hunt Post 6806 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chapter 23 Disabled American Veterans and Auxilary Units</em><br /><br /><em>These photos are stored together. From the Puddledock Press article with the photos in June issue 1986:<br /><br />"It's time personal care became personal again-" So states Garnet House Inc.'s President, Donald MacVane- Located at 115 Central Street, Garnet House has been standing behind these words for four years. <br /><br />Garnet House Inc. is a residential care facility offering four programs to meet the needs of the elderly: <br /><br />RESPITE CARE - 2^ hour supervised care for individuals enroute home, post-op, or recuperating from an illness and anticipating surgery. <br /><br />PERMANENT RESIDENCY - Independent living for those clients who re-quire supervised care on a permanent basis- <br /><br />TEMPORARY RESIDENCY - Accommodations for the elderly during a pe-riod awaiting permanent arrangements or to enable those who nor¬mally supervise their affairs to vacation or rest. <br /><br />PRE-EXAMINATION CARE - Care for those requiring assistance prior to hospital out-patient tests or between treatment as an in-pa¬tient at a hospital for an illness - <br /><br />Currently expanding, Garnet House Inc- will have five extra bed¬rooms on the first floor. The expansion is interior only, there will be no major changes to the home-neighborhood environment. Garnet House is licensed and certified, and their full-time staff membership boasts two EMT'S.
