Farmington NH 101st Anniversary Memorial Day Exercise Booklet 1969. The booklet is four pages, printed in blue ink on paper.
The front page is simply decorated with a single, five line, angle border, which extends across three quarters of the top and left side of the front page. The border frames an image in the center of the page, The image in the center is a bald eagle, holding an olive branch in its beak, sitting atop a shield with four stars and alternating dark and light stripes and a banner saying "Memorial Day ." Details of the event are at the middle of the page to the bottom of the page topped with a US American Legion emblem.
The details say that the 101st Anniversary Memorial Day exercise was conducted by Clarence L. Perkins, Post No. 60 American Legion, Farmington, NH. They were to begin at "eight o'clock in the forenoon," at Edgerly Park. Officer of the Day was Allan Drew. Parade Marshall was Lawrence Gilbert. It was his 18th year doing so.
It details the activities for Memorial Day on the second and third pages starting with a march at Edgerly Park, then Town Hall, then the Main Street bridge, Veterans Cemetery, the Civil War memorial, then ending at Town Hall., At all places they included prayer, remarks, song, and many a band or musician playing.
The last page is devoted to order of the march and a public invitation to join them in " the proper observance of Memorial Day."

1951 Congregational Church 75th Anniversary Booklet
A 1951 Congregational Church 75th anniversary bi-fold booklet with a photograph of the church on the cover. The event was scheduled for March 8, 1951. The founding of the church was September 15, 1819. The booklet lists the founders on the cover under the photo. the interior of the booklet includes the program of events, which included music from the organ, an invocation, hymn singing and several speakers before a closing. The third page of the interior highlights the start and history of the church and a list of ministers, from 1819-1951. The back page includes a list of the entire organization in 1951, with names and titles.

Farmington Building & Loan Association By-Laws Booklet
The Farmington Building & Loan Association started March 14th 1922 and operated until the late twentieth century.
Attached is an article from the New Hampshire Farmington News, Thursday , February 17 , 1972. The article talks about the earliest days of the business and includes information about board members and trials and initiatives they experienced. In the article they mention celebrating the 50th anniversary of the business.
The article is a digital file and does not exist in the physical museum collection.

1880 Graduation Exercises Farmington High School Booklet
A bi-fold booklet of the 1880 Graduation Exercises of the Farmington High School. The event was set for eight o' clock, Thursday July 1, 1880 at the Congregational Church in Farmington, NH. Music was planned, as well as eleven speakers, including the Salutatorian and the Valedictorian.

1929 Farmington NH National Bank Booklet
A short, multi-page Farmington NH National Bank booklet for information and marketing purposes. The booklet starts with a drawing of the bank. Next the booklet has a list of officers, directors, and cashiers. The following page offers an early history.<br /><br /><br />The early history reads:<br /><br /><em>EARLY HISTORY THE FARMINGTON NATIONAL BANK is the out growth of a State Bank which was organized some time previous to January 1, 1855, such records as are available not giving us the exact date. Over three-quarters of a century have elapsed since that time and volumes might be written on the changes which have taken place in the Town and also in methods of banking. We find that back in April and May of the year 1872, Citizens' Meetings were held to give consideration to the organizing of a National Bank. As a result of these meet- ings, G. W. Herring and Charles W. Thurston proceeded to Washington for the purpose of obtaining permission to organize, and this authority was given under date of May 15, 1872. Under date of June 3, 1872, Articles of Association were adopted, and a Board of nine Directors elected. The following men were elected to the Board: G. W. Herring, John H. Barker, Alonzo Nute, Charles Talpey,]. F. Cloutman,H. B. Edgerly, C. W. Thurston, Martin L. Hayes and Edwin Wallace. The Directors then chose the following officers: G.W. Herring, President, J. F. Cloutman, Vice-President, and Thomas F. Cooke, Cashier. The certificate of organization was sworn to before Daniel W. Edgerly, Notary Public, under date of July 19, 1872, and sent to Washington upon receipt of which a Charter was granted by Honorable John Jay Knox, Comp- troller of the Currency, under date of July 27, 1872. <br /><br /></em>The booklet continues with photos of of the old bank and the new bank buildings<em>. </em>It offers a short service statement and then outlines each department, for a total of six departemnts.<em> the booklet concludes with full page photos of the bank president, vice president, cashier, and director.<br /><br /></em>This item was found in a School Street property.<em><br /><br />Size: 5"x 6.75"<br /></em><br />Condition: The booklet shows some signs of minor wear and tear and does have a triangular tear at the bottom near the center of the booklet.<em><br /><br /><br /></em>FHS-Kyle Leach

1897 Farmington NH Memorial Day Order of Exercises Booklet
A May 31, 1897 Farmington, NH, Memorial Day Order of Exercises booklet. The booklet is four pages, printed in black ink on off paper.
The front page is ornately decorated with two borders one on the exterior edge, a block geometric floral and one framing an image in the center of the page, a simple triangle geometric repeat. The image in the center is a Grand Army of the Republic medal, hanging from a thirteen star American flag, placed equidistant over their field, topped by a bald eagle sitting atop two overlapping cannons and canon balls. The Grand Army of the Republic was a national fraternal organization. It was composed of veterans of the Union Army, Union Navy, Marines and the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service.
It details the activities for Memorial Day on the second and third pages starting with a march at 1:30 PM on Main Street, followed by exercises at the cemetery & monument. Evening exercises were to start at 8 PM. At all places they included prayer, addresses, song, and bands playing.
The last page is devoted to honoring deceased soldiers and sailors and gives a list for those at the cemetery. Special sections specifically list those fallen in the War of 1812 and the Mexican War. it also points out those in "outside yards" on Ten Rod Road, and the Hodgdon, Bunker, and Stevens yard.

Javier F. Marion, Ph.D.Associate Professor of History contacted the Farmington Historical Society about donating a forty-nine page manuscript about Henry Wilson's life.
The following is paraphrased from Javier F. Marion, Ph.D:
Jordan Coulombe Ph.D had originally written this piece for the Natick Historical Society. They had asked Professor Javier Marion Ph.D. and Jordan Coulombe Ph.D to assist them in putting together a booklet-length piece on Wilson Jordan Coulombe was an aspiring graduate student at Emmanuel College at the time and he obliged. He wrote an informative essay titled, "A Cobbler in Congress" that was aimed at a lay (public history) audience. Professor Marion helped him edit the piece.Unfortunately, the manuscript was never utilized in any form.

Ned Parker Cottage Register Booklet Covering 1893 -1930
A typed copy of the seventy-four page Ned Parker Pine Bluff Cottage register booklet, typed at the hand of Ned Parker. The register covers a period of 1893 -1930. Included are photos and comments that may not have been in the original record.
The register contains weather notations, musing on local happenings, details of visits from locals and people from afar, building updates and repairs, remembrances of celebrations, and accounts of day to day tasks and meals. It reads as a who is who of the Farmington, NH community during the four decades it covers.
The cottage was in Alton Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee formerly owned by S.S. Parker of Farmington and S.P. Nute

A thirty-six page booklet created by the New Hampshire Historical Society. The Historical New Hampshire, Volume 8 Number 2, October 1952 Issue covers remembrances of indigenous populations, as researched and complied by by Robinson V. Smith. It is subtitled "NH Remembers the Indians." The accounts are exclusively told from European settler perspectives. The booklet contains as many European colonist representations as it does representations of indigenous populations.
This item contains biases and misinformation from early periods.
