1892 Account 1875 Fire Farmington News, Page3, 1892
An 1892 account of the great 1875 fire on Central Street in Farmington, as presented in the Farmington News, Page3, February 12, 1892. The fire was swift and burned down many notable building including the Elm House hotel, the Thurston factory, Nat Roberts house, the J. F. Clesley house, and the First Congregational Church. Many, many other homes and businesses sustained damage.

Colorized blue-green-brown, souvenir postcard of South Main Street facing north into the bend in Farmington, NH. The Eastman house and Edgerly factory can be seen in the background, very clearly. The First Congregational Chuch steeple can be seen in the distance, over trees. A fence, electric pole, and three people can be seen in the foreground to mid ground. Trees in various stages of growth are also present. Most notably part of the front side of the J.F. Cloutman Shoe Factory building can be seen in the middle ground, to the right . All four stories can be seen.

From the estate of Robert and Frances Rollins. Mrs. Rollins was from Farmington. Her maiden name was Jones. Given the the Farmington Historical Society by Michael A. Griffin, their nephew.
Sabine Home Charles Street Black & White Souvenir Postcard Farmington NH
A black & white souvenir postcard of the Sabine home on Charles Street in Farmington, NH. A typical New Englander, The Sabine home was two full stories, plus the attic space. The building has a small covered front entrance and two bay windows, one over another, in the front right. There is a single window, which is covered, in the attic floor and it is unknown if this was used for storage or sleeping space. The side of the house offers many windows and a side entrance via a covered open porch and further back covered screened porch. Detail work, beams, fretwork, and decorative shingles all appear to be in very good condition and well maintained. The house has two chimneys. The house also has a three story, attached, carriage house to the right. Flowers, shrubs and other plantings pepper the front and side yard. A young girl, wearing a dress, stands on the top step of the side porch looking toward the camera.

Color Souvenir Postcard Into Corner Pleasant Street Farmington NH
Colorized, green, souvenir postcard of one of the corners of Pleasant Street in downtown Farmington, NH. Several homes may be seen in the background and to the sides. An electric pole and fence can be seen on the left. Many mature trees can be seen in the neighborhood.
The divided back has a simple exchange between Mrs. Remick, of Farmington and Mrs. Yeaton of Springvale, Maine. Mrs Remick asks Mrs. Yeaton to come up at the request of Marjorie and that they are having their picture taken and they will send her one. Postmark is August 31, 1909.
