Ellen L. Bennett, age 94, formerly of North Main Street in Farmington, now known as Bay Road, died June 1, 2007 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, where she most recently resided. Born in Farmington on September 5, 1912, daughter of the late David Parker Bennett and Grace (Leighton) Bennett, she attended school in Farmington and was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1930. Prior to retirement in 1977, she was employed many years for the Department of Probation, State of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her sister: Mabelle Lee and is survived by her nephew: Denneth & his wife Judith Lee of Barrington and their 5 children: Linda, Eric, Jason, Wendy and William, also 2 great nieces: Michelle & Krista. Interment will be in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.

J. F. Safford printed plain and embellished text advertisement for holiday shopping on thin, blue paper. Dated December 19, 1871. Marketing includes plugs for gold and silver, watches, solid silver serving dishes, silver plated dining decor and utensils, steel and plated table cutlery, knives and razors, women accessories, perfumery, spectacles, picture frames and looking glass plates, as well as many other items.

A 1918 Farmington News article exclusives discussing a vast fire at the Cloutman Shoe Company, putting 228 people out of work. It was billed as the biggest industrial fire Farmington had experienced. A thirty-four page, World War II, R. O. Rondeau Shoe Company <em>War Time Workers Hand Book, What Every Worker Should Know,</em> circa 1943. <br /><br />This item belonged to Farmington worker 636, Department 52, which was stitching, all information written on the back inside cover, along with the worker Social Security number(not inlcued in scan). The Foreman for the worker was Louie Underburger. <br /><br />The booklet contains a fair amount of American propaganda, helpful home and work advice during wartime, financial advice, community service advice, commentary on the war, post Pearl Harbor Attack, and some forcasting on the war effort.<br /><br />This item does contain biases from earlier periods.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />FHS-Kyle Leach
